This is the story of how Minnesota Program Architects (MPAs) and I worked out a technical solution to the problem of free garden plots. The MPAs have won the award for Best Technical Solution in the Planting Management Association's (PMA) 2021 Planting Design Award in the category of Best Solutions for Customers in the Garden Industry category, beating out several other established software packages. Here is the story of how we came to design a software package that will solve the problems faced by small arborists and gardeners who wish to download or print free landscape plans from the Internet.
We believe that it is possible for non-professional landscape architects and botanists to create beautiful free landscape plans using simple drafting techniques that they can easily use for their personal projects. We designed a software package that takes an ordinary sketch and transforms it into a three dimensional digital image. Using our software, the arborist doesn't have to draw or color or sketch the plans - the computer does it all for them. Because the images can be printed with black and white resolution, the clientele can have unlimited numbers of landscape planks printed on any size printhead at low cost or no cost at all.
In our competitive world, it is essential that the small businesses succeed. One way that we found to help the community succeed is through providing free software that the small arborists and gardeners can download to help them plan their own gardens. It is very unfortunate that there are some software companies who make it hard for consumers to obtain these documents from the Internet. When searching for answers online, one thing we recommend is not sticking to one product but instead using all three of the products offered by us: MNprogram Arquitectos, FAP Turbo and the Documentaci Free Software.
